This option organizes your genealogical information and determines the best place to begin research. This option is for people who have never had any genealogical research done before and want to know where to begin or for people who have foreign research problems wanting to know whether records are available in an archive or church in Europe. This covers the cost of determining whether ancestry can be traced at this time. Also, estimating the cost of translation and processing time of old documents may fall under this option. |

This option is focused research on a specific research problem that is keeping the pedigree from being extended or searching a particular source such as a census search or vital records search, etc. |

For example, name changes through Americanization of a difficult foreign name to something more commonly found in America, i.e. Bruning to Browning or Hvilsom to Wilson, etc. or determining whether a particular type of record exists for a particular time period, i.e. registration records of free blacks for an area as they first show up in records, or if church records for a particular denomination known to have been in a location are still in existence and where to obtain them. |

This option normally produces significant genealogical findings. Occasionally, however, unusual situations occur where additional research time is needed to successfully trace a line. The 15 and 20 hour research projects give the additional time at a discounted rate. This option is normally reserved for tracing one or two different surnames extensively. Approximately two or more generations can be traced for a family in this amount of research time. |
